DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Francis by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Francis:
Spears-1192 and Spears-169 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles have the same birth date and similar death dates (the headstone is difficult to read), are married to Webb-1643, and are the father of Spears-168 and Spears-737. However, I believe this Francis is the child of William (Spears-1193) and Rachel (Unknown-298112), not Joshua and Mary. The census data for 1870-1910 in the sources for Spears-1192 are consistent with a birth year of 1857, while some of the data in the biography of Spears-169 suggests a birth year of 1840 (this is actually mentioned in the biography).
