Biography
"John Spenser, ‘a gentleman by birth,’ who was in October 1566 ‘a free journeyman’ in the ‘art and mystery of clothmaking,’ and then in the service of Nicholas Peele, ‘sheerman,’ of Bow Lane, London."[1]. He moved to London sometime before 1552 from Burnley in Lancashire, near Pendle Hill[2]
