Biography
Herbert was born in 1881 in Margate. He is the son of William Spicer and Jane Waters - but see Research Notes.
Research Notes
There were two William and Jane Spicers in Kent at this time, and Herbert appears to be from the couple where Jane's maiden name was Stone, not Waters. This family lived in the Thanet area of Kent, the other family near to Faversham in the west of the county.
So new parents appear to need to be profiled for Herbert and his siblings (Sept 2023).
