Biography

The birth date of this Hannah Sterry probably should be expressed as 22 Feb 1704/05 per the Julian/Gregorian calendar shift.

She may have been the first child of Hannah Rose and Samuel Sterry, of Wethersfield and Stonington, Connecticut, respectively, who were married 22 Feb 1703.

Per some references, this Hannah Sterry married Elkanah Hewitt, with whom she had perhaps as many as 13 children, as profiled.

Note: There is a probable confusion of this Hannah Sterry with Temperance Keeney, as published by Wheeler (1900) in his History of Stonington, etc., p. 419. Moreover, a different Hannah Sterry, with the same birth date, is currently profiled as the wife of Hezekiah Fisk. Effort should be made to sort out these persons, with copious explanations edited into their profiles.

According to a certain grave "finding" website, this Hannah (Sterry) Hewitt died in 1773, and is buried in Great Plain Cemetery, North Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, USA: Find A Grave: Memorial #72202542. Veracity of those data should be probed from a credible source, then this profile should be edited accordingly.
