Biography

Ethel was born in 1885 in West Virginia, probably in Weston in Lewis County where her family was living. She was the fourteenth and last-born and daughter of John Charles Stewart and Rebecca Alcinda Gaston. She grew up in Weston, and then developed a business as a dressmaker and seamstress, working at home and continuing to live with her parents. She never married nor had children. She died in Lewis County in 1984 at the age of 99, and is buried with her parents and other family members in the Machpelah Cemetery in Weston.
