Biography
Richard Stinson was born on 5 May 1893, the son of Thomas Stinson and Sadie Fowler [1]on a farm in Manvers Township, then part of the old Durham County, Ontario, Canada.[2] The family purchased a farm in the neighbouring Township of Cartwright sometime before 1900. In 1916 he married Hannah Rosetta Wright in the Village of Blackstock, Cartwright Township. [3]
Dick and Rosie purchased their own farm in Cartwright Township, near their parents and siblings. They raised 4 children, 2 sons Richard and Roy, and 2 daughters private and Lola. [4] Dick and Rosie retired to a house on Jackman Street in Bowmanville. Dick died of a heart attack on August 22, 1957. [5]. He is buried at the Cartwright Union cemetery.
