Biography
Harriet (Stokes) Pullman was born in England.
- Harriet was born in England on 29 Aug 1881.[1][2][3][4] She came to the US with her family when still an infant in 1883.[5][3] She married WIlliam Pulman on 30 Apr 1901.[6] Harriet died of breast cancer at the age of 88.[7]
Research Notes
- The immigration year shown on the 1930 census is 1884.[3] This should be taken as merely an estimate and one can be certain is earlier than that year given that Harriet's brother King was born in Virginia early that year.
- There was an Harriet Stokes travelling with a probable mother Ellen. Unfortunately, the birth date for that 'Ellen' does not match that of Harriet's mother, but that date itself is an estimate. The father is a more serious issue as the name is 'William' rather than 'Winter.' Possibly this was a clerical error. His birth date also does not match but, as with his wife, we are not truly certain of his true date of birth.[8]
