When Solomon Strunk and his twin brother Stephen were born in 1822 in Whitley, Kentucky, their father, Daniel, was 47, and their mother, Honor, was 20. He had five sons and four daughters with Elizabeth Chitwood. He then married Lucinda Chitwood and they had four children together.
He died on August 7, 1898, in Scott, Tennessee, having lived a long life of 76 years, and was buried in Ross Cemetery, Winfield, Scott County, Tennessee.[1]
Some inconsistency is present regarding Solomon Strunk's birthdate. Imported biography (above) suggests his birth year as 1822; findagrave reports it as 1830. In the 1880 census, Solomon Strunk is recorded for Chitwood, Scott County, TN, where is his age is listed as 53, suggesting a birth year of 1827. Birthdate in this record changed to 1830 to align with findagrave.com, though uncertain.
Appears in 1850 census of Whitley, Kentucky aged abt. 19 y/o, POB KY, in the home of parents Daniel and Susan Strunk. Record further enumerated in profile of father Daniel Strunk.
