William (Stewart) Stuart is a member of Clan Stewart.

William Stewart (Stuart) was born on 12 April 1798, in the parish of St Bees, Whitehaven, Cumberland, England. He was the son of John Stewart (Stuart) and his wife Eleanor Munkhouse.

Like his father John who was a sea captain, William also went to sea achieving a Mates Certificate. He died in September 1874 in London, having lived a long life of 76 years. Also like his father and due to clerical differences the spelling of his name changed from Stewart to Stuart.
