He was a Pilot Officer (Observer) in the Royal Air Force, No. 150 Squadron , He attended Gisborne High School and Wellington College. He gave his next of kin as Mr & Mrs P. W. Suckling, "Glenfern", Cambridge. He trained with the Royal Canadian Air Force, No. 4 Air Observer School, in London, Ontario, Class 27. Graduation Date: 23/06/1941. and the Royal Canadian Air Force, No. 1 Bombing and Gunnery School, in Jarvis, Ontario and the Royal Canadian Air Force, No. 1 Air Navigation School, in Rivers, Manitoba He was Killed in Action, with the Royal Air Force, No. 150 Squadron 3 September 1942 over Germany, and was buried at the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, in Kleve, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany His name appears on the Pollington Airfield Memorial Garden, in Yorkshire, England and on the Cambridge Cenotaph, in Victoria St, Cambridge , New Zealand [3]
His cousin Russell Henry Suckling serving with the 44 Squadron of the RAF was also killed in action of Germany that month
