Russell Henry Suckling was Killed in Action during World War II.

Russell Henry was born in 1916. He was the son of He was the son of Annie and Nathaniel Alexander Suckling [1] He passed away in 1942 age 26 [2]

R H Suckling (service number 411469) served in the Air Force during World War 2. He was a Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force, No. 44 Squadron He gave his next of kin as Mr & Mrs N. A. Suckling, Palmerston Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland . He had attended Auckland Grammar School and Seddon Memorial Technical School, Auckland (Source: RNZAF Biographies (R17845616)) He was killed in action on air operations over Germany with the , No. 44 Squadron, in September 1942. He is buried at the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, in Kleve, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany (Grave ref 24 C) [3]

His cousin Oswald William Suckling serving with the 150 Squadron of the RAF was also killed in action of Germany that month
