Biography
Caroline was baptised on 9 Dec 1832 at Sutton, Cambridgeshire, the daughter of Robert and MaryAnn Sutton.[1]s.
Her father died in Jan 1840 and she was living in Sutton with her mother in 1841 - Mary Sutton 30 widow; Mary Sutton 10; Caroline Sutton 8; Jonathan Sutton 6; Hannah Sutton 5; Charlotte Sutton 3. All except Mary the mother born in Cambs.[2]
In the 1851 census she was still living in Sutton, Cambs _ John Gray head marr 20 ag lab b Witcham; Mary Ann Gray wife 20 b Sutton, Isle of Ely; Mary Ann Sutton mother-in-law widow 41 Laundress Born Not known; Jonathan Sutton son 16 Ag employ b Sutton; Hannah Sutton dau 16 b Sutton; Charlotte Sutton 12.[3]
She married James Boyce, recorded as Vice, on 28 Sep 1852 at Sutton, Cambridgeshire.[4]
She stayed in Sutton when her mother and two younger sisters emigrated to Australia in Aug 1854.
She was living in Sutton in the 1861 census - James Boyce head marr 32 Ag lab b Mepal; Caroline Boyce wife 28 b Sutton; Ann dau 7 b Sutton; Robert son 3 b Sutton, George son 9 mths b Sutton.[5]
She died age 34 at Sutton on 10 Apr 1867.[6] Ely reg district.
