Arthur was born in 1875. He is the son of George Swain and Leah Neal.

His birth was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1874 in the Potterspury district.^[1]

In the 1891 census Arthur (age 16), Printer, was the single son of George Swain in Wolverton, Hampshire, England.^[2]

Arthur's marriage to Lily Eliza Kimble was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1899 in the Newport Pagnell district.^[3]

Arthur died on 7 October 1912 and their estate passed probate in 1912 in Transvaal, South Africa.^{[4] [5] [6] [7]}
