Thomas was born around 1878 in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England. In 1881 he lived with his parents, Henry and Fanny, in Tanshelf, Yorkshire.[1]
Thomas married Ethel Jane Kemp in Selby, Yorkshire, in 1905.[2][3]
