Son of William Teed (1730-1800) & Mary Strong. Mary was his second wife, with a previous marriage to Mary Sadler.

Birth: about 1792, England.

Baptism: 25 July 1792, East Budleight, Devon, England; Samuel son of Charles & Mary Teed.^[1]

He was seven when his father William Teed died in 1800.

Married 1): 19 September 1826, Wisbech St Peters, Cambridgeshire, to Mary Harrod (1798-1836). She was a widow. Both were of that parish, married by Banns. Both signed with an "X".^[2][3][4][5]

1841 Census: Samuel "Tate" with only 3 of his kids & no wife listed is a sawyer & living at "Canal Side" with sons Richard 10 yrs, William 7 yrs, and Pilate 12 yrs.

Marriage 2); Nov 21, 1842 a Samuel Teed, born about 1793 wed Sarah Bayles Woods- both were widowed/ widowers & lived in Timber Market at Wisbech, He is a sawyer. Select Marriages (newspaper error said surgeon- not so from actual wedding certificate at St Peters) William Teed, a porter "lete of Wisbech" was listed as father of Samuel Teed.

Marriage registered 4Q 1842, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.^[12]

1847 Dec 20-in Wisbech, -Samuel died at 55 yrs-

2 news articles says died at 55 yrs, (one probably in error says 65 yrs) AND he was living on Timber Market--- so I think this all fits... Buried 23 Dec 1847.

Research Notes

There is confusion on Samuel Teed with various records about.. I think that the Samuel Teed born about 1793 or so (records very, darn it!) and lived in Wisbech-- is the one who married Mary Harrod & after she died, he wed widow Sarah Bayles Woods.. I located birth records & POSTED them for a number of "Samuel and Mary" Teeds children- all from Wisbech and could see the occupation & street he lived at. There also is a Samuel Teed who lived in Devon & lived much longer= not the same fellow. ^[14]
