Allen was born 18 Dec 1810. He passed away in 1875 as he was on the 1870 census.
He was apprenticed to Brittain Riddle as an orphan in November 1815. The Riddle family was residing in Hardin County Tennessee with Allen. He married Easter Hurley in Hardin County Tennessee in 1830. Easter's father Josiah was a brother of Delilah Hurley, wife of Brittain Riddle.
Allen and Josiah owned property that became Shiloh Battlefield during the war between the states.
Allen wasa Methodist precheranda farmer.
