Biography
- Katherine Thetcher was the daughter of John Thetcher, Esq., of Priesthawes in the parish of Westham, co. Sussex. Her mother was Margaret Oxenbridge, daughter of Sir Goddard Oxenbridge, Knt.[1][2]
Marriage
- Catherine married Herbert Pelham Sr. as his first wife.[2]
Children
- Katherine and Herbert had one daughter and two sons.[2]
- Margaret, who married Sir Thomas Palmer, Knt., of Wingham, co. Kent. and had several children including Herbert Palmer, Master of Queen's College, Cambridge.
- John Pelham, He was granted license on 28 Jan 1608-9 from the Bishop of London to marry Catherine, daughter of John Yardley, Esq. of Henley, co Warwick, spinster aged 18. He was described as of the Middle Temple, Gentleman, a bachelor, aged 24, He was born about 1580. It appeared he died before his father and left no male heir.
