Research notes
Sources are split on whether he was born in 1826 or 1837, but they all agree on 24 March. He first married in 1850 (age 24 or 13), and served in the US army in 1865 (age 38 or 28).
Might be two different people, but the sources don't otherwise conflict, and he hasn't been documented as being in two places at the same time.
