I find it difficult to believe that Muriel Berkeley married Sir Robert at the age of 11. Either her birth year is wrong, or the wedding date is wrong, or both. Can anyone clarify?
posted by Harold Bullock
Probably her date of birth is out. For this period actual birthdays are generally unknown to genealogists for a great many families. If she was the same age as her husband she would have been 17. The wedding year is in numerous books, some very old.

In 'The Lives of the Berkeleys' Smyth states that Muriel (Miriell) Berkeley married Robert at Yate, Gloucestershire in the 18th year of Henry 8th, and adds a source from a document in the Berkeley archives of 10th November of that year.
