Biography
Daniel Greene Thurston married Frances "Fanny" Thayer, daughter of Joseph Thayer and Sarah Brown, on 19 March 1797 at Swansea, Bristol County, MA. Both were residents there.
Daniel Greene Thurston is considered the first permanent settler of Brown Township, Delaware County, Ohio. [1] He chose a spot on the summit of a hill just west of Alum Creek on what is now known as the Delaware and Sunbury Turnpike Road. He was a potter, justice of the peace and class leader in the Methodist church in Delaware, OH.
Wrote a will 27 June 1840, Delaware County.
He was buried at Old Eden Cemetery Row 4, Grave 7, Kilbourne, Brown Township, Delaware County, Ohio. Father of 13 children: Betsy was the third daughter, 4th child.
