Martha Toby was born in 1840, daughter of Nathaniel Tobey and Alma West.^[1]

Research Notes

Martha is said to have died March 1860 in Bell county, Texas, but no reliable sources have yet been linked to confirm this.

The 1850 census shows 'Martha Toby' having been born in Iowa with parents Nathaniel and Ruth Toby in Camden county, Missouri.^[1] Her place of birth has alternately been said to be Vernon, Indiana, but no source has been found to confirm this.
