Biography

Major Dobby Tomberlin was born on May 28, 1856 in Appling County, Georgia, United States, son of Thomas Riley Tomberlin (1813–1885) and Mary Rountree (~1818–1878).

In 1870, Major (14) was living with his parents, Thomas (57)Mary (51) and Thomas (17); and his sister, Nancy (11) in Appling County, Georgia. ^[1]

Major (22) married Mary Priscilla Crosby (16) (born on October 26, 1862 in Georgia; daughter of Riley Crosby and Sarah (Eason) Crosby) on November 27, 1878 in Appling County, Georgia.^[2] Their children were:
