Ven. Anthony Traill was born November 25, 1755, the second son of Reverand Robert Traill and his wife Jane Dow.

Ven. Anthony Traill studied and was ordained a pastor like his father before him.
Ven. Anthony Traill served as Rector of Schull parish for the Church of Ireland. He was instituted as Prebendary of St Andrews (Down) on 18 August 1777. (FF.) He resigned in 1781, and was made Archdeacon of Connor. He was collated Archdeacon of Connor on 26 April 1782. [D. R.] He held the archdeaconry for fifty years, and died in 1831.
Ven. Anthony Traill married in 1788 to Agnes Watts Gayer, the daughter of William Watts Gayer, the Clerk of the House of Lords, British Parliment. Anthony and Agnes had four children:
Ven. Anthony Traill passed away on November 16, 1831. His son was appointed rector of Schull the following year, inheriting his father's position.
