"The exact relationship of Matthias Treat to Mr. Richard Treat is not known, but Winthrop in 1657 noted in his Medical Journal, Elizabeth Treat, 1 1/2 years, dau of Mathias Treat alias Trott - a kinsman of Mr Trott.[1]
Mathias Treat was made a freeman on May 21 1657. He is listed in various lawsuits between 1646 and 1649. He lived on the east side of Broad Street, and later on the west side of Sandy Lane.
Mathias Treat's estate was administered on Sept 16 1662 (worth 163 pouds) by Anthony Wright of Wethersfield who married Mathias' widow. Items included the house & 6 acres (worth 56 pounds), a sword, a mare, 3 colts, hogs and 2 oxen. His children are listed as Henry (age 13), Susanna (11), Richard (7), Elizabeth (5), Abigail (3), and one expected (Dorcas).
