Hyle Francis Tryon
Hyle Francis Tryon was born on November 1, 1919, in Lyons, Burt County, Nebraska, to Addie Mae Francis, age 33, and Arthur Harrison Tryon, age 30.
Hyle lived in Everett, Nebraska, in 1920. He was listed as a daughter because of his middle name and being only 3 months old. He is listed as Francis H Tryon. [1]
In 1922, the family moved to a farm north of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado from Nebraska.
In 1931, the family located north of Wild Horse, Colorado to an area called Lost Springs where they engaged in ranching.[2]

Hyle enlisted in the Marines on December 13, 1941. He was 22 years old. He was listed on the Marine muster rolls in January 1942 as a private.
April 1944 He is listed in the in the U.S., Marine Corps Muster Rolls as a Staff Sergeant for Corps Transport Company, Third Corps Motor Transport Battalion, Corps Troops, Third Amphibious Corps, In The Field. In Jan 1945 Marine Corps Muster Rolls, he is a Corporal stationed with the Transport Company, Service Battalion, Mcb, San Diego, California. In Jul 1945, he is listed as Sergeant with the Motor Transport Company, Bash Depot, Martrng and Replcomd, Camp Elliott, San Diego, Calif.
During World War II, III MEF was known as I Marine Amphibious Corps. It was renamed III Amphibious Corps on 15 April 1944, and took part in fighting against the Japanese Empire in the Pacific theater during World War II.
Hyle was discharged 23 Dec 1945.
Hyle Francis Tryon married Nancy Blackwelder, 20 years old, in Navajo, Arizona, on December 30, 1946, when he was 27 years old. After their marriage, Hyle and Nancy moved to Rifle, Colorado.
Hyle and Merwyn bought and ran Tryon Dry Cleaners.
His son, Arthur Eugene Tryon was born in Grand Junction, Colorado.
They lived in Rifle for about 2 years. They then moved to Nancy's home town of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Hyle's mother, Addie, moved to South Carolina to live with them. Hyle was never happy in the dense treed area. He said he could not live in an area that made him feel that he would suffocate. They then moved back to Pueblo, Colorado in July 1952.
Hyla Stephanie Tryon was born April 5, 1953 on Easter Sunday. Hyle was working at the CF&I. Daddy was always the best Dad in the World to me as was Mom the very best Momma. I was blessed to have such wonderful parents.
Hyle then moved his family to Boone, Colorado and worked at the Pueblo Army Depot. The family lived there until 1963 when the family moved to Pueblo, Colorado. He enjoyed the open spaces more than city life. A large lot let him enjoy his gardening and fruit trees.
Hyle enjoyed gardening in 1994. He grew some giant sunflowers in 1994. They were much taller than Daddy. He always had a garden with many types of beans and peas, tomatoes, Kohlrabi, Jerusalem artichokes, and many more veggies. Mom had her beautiful roses that were easily 5 feet tall. They loved to garden together.

Hyle was a tank mechanic for the Pueblo Army Depot until he retired in 1976. In 1966, he was sent to Iraq to help fix vehicles for their army in the war against Iran. He was gone for over 3 months.
On the side, so many people would come to him for his knowledge on fixing vehicles. Later in life, he could listen to a vehicle and tell the person what was wrong with it.
Arthur and family first moved to north of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. They did not buy the Lost Springs (Wild Horse, Colo) property until 1931. The address for Lost Springs has also been Flagler, Colorado. Verified by addresses on post cards and letters that are part of the family collection.
The Census has the town as Ebenezer. Ebenezer or Ebenezerville is a neighborhood of Rock Hill, South Carolina located at latitude 34.957 and longitude -81.046 along Ebenezer Road in the northern part of the city. Ebenezer was a town in northern York County, South Carolina until it was unincorporated and annexed into the city of Rock Hill in the late 1960s. The elevation of the neighborhood is 686 feet above sea level.
