Biography

Elizabeth Turrentine was born in 1759, the daughter of Alexander Turrentine and his wife Deborah (Spencer). [1] She married Francis Baldridge about 1775. [2] [3] The family moved to Mississippi about 1802, when Francis begins appearing on records there. [4] Her exact date of death is uncertain, but both Francis and Elizabeth were alive in 1816 since they executed a power of attorney in settling the estate of Elizabeth's brother, Alexander.[5]

Children born to Elizabeth and Francis Baldridge included:

  1. Deborah Spence Baldridge, born 06 October 1788, who married John Clem Johnson;[6]
  2. John Owens, born 8 - Feb - 1780, who married (1) Jane Owens, born 01 Nov 1785, and married (2) Nancy Cheek Marble, born 23 December 1812.[7]

Private Francis Baldridge, born @1751 in Lancaster, PA, died after 1830 in Jefferson County, Mississippi, and his wife Elizabeth Turrentine, born 29 January 1759 in Pennsylvania, are honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution for service: 1) CONTINENTAL LINE; SIGNED OATH OF ALLEGIANCE TO MAKE LAND ENTRY, ORANGE CO, 1779[8]
