Biography

Born in 1871, Francis was left an orphan by 1879. His older siblings were cared for by their grandmother until her death in 1882. Francis was placed in an orphanage, until his sister Ellen married in 1889. Francis then went to live with them. He worked as an accountant during those early years. In 1901 Francis worked as a chartered accountant's clerk
