Biography

Francis Astley Cooper Tyrrell, the son of Sarah & Walter Tyrrell, was born on 15 NOV 1870 in London, England.

The 1871 census shows him in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, England. with his family, not yet one year old ^[1]

In 1881 he is in the same place.^[2]

He was a pupil at Malvern College^[3]

The 1891 census shows him with his family in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, England. He is listed as a medical student^[4]

He studied medicine at Clare College Cambridge, moving on to a resident post at St Thomas's Hospital, London. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1901 and worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital from 1904-1910. There is a fuller description of his career in ^[5]

He died following a severe asthma attack on 1 January 1933 in London^[5]

He was survived by his wife, Nellie (Hallett) ,and their two children
