Biography

Most of what is known about Margaret (Bruce) Henderson comes from a note written in an old book supposedly belonging to James Henderson of Augusta VA. It was copied and published in the book "Ancestry and Descendants of Lieut. John Henderson: Of Greenbrier County, Virginia, 1650-1900". The author wrote that he was in possession of an old book, published in 1707 which included a record of the Henderson family written by James Henderson in 1740^[1].

In this old book, printed in 1707, and now owned by the writer of this sketch, is written in quaint, faded characters the following family record : Wm Henderson Gent & Margt Bruce Mar'd Feb 7 1705
