Sabelia was born in 1832 in Massachusetts.
She was the daughter of Minerva and Thomas Cooly, and the wife of Civil War veteran Abraham A. Jackson of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the first regiment in the United States made up entirely of enlisted men of color.
In 1850, she is attending school, probably in or near Sheffield, Massachusetts.
She passed away in 1923 and is buried at Mahaiwe Cemetery in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
I haven't found a marriage record to confirm it for certain, but adding the Sabelia Cool(e)y records for now and assuming Cool(e)y was indeed her last name at birth. Have not yet officially updated the last name at birth; waiting to find certain confirmation!
