Pvt Seeley Urias was born in 1846 in Lorain, Ohio, United States, son of John Urias (1801–~1878) and Ann (Youry) Urias (1815– ).
In the 1860 census Seeley (age 14) was in Pittsfield, Lorain, Ohio.[1]

Along with his half brother Hiram (Van Guilder) Vanguilder (1836-1864), he served in Company H, 103rd Ohio Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. Hiram was captured, sent to Andersonville, where he died of disease. Seeley was more fortunate. Once out of the army, he applied for a soldier's invalid pension, September 3, 1865, which was issued as Certificate #77301.
Seeley was shown in the 1870 U.S. Census for Penfield Twp., Lorain County, Ohio residing with J.E. Marshal, 31, farmer, and his wife and daughter, at 22 years of age, working as a farm laborer. In the 1870 census Seely (age 22), Farm Laborer, was in Penfield, Lorain, Ohio.[2]

About 1875, before his first child was born, he married Anna, possibly nee Shea. [3] for Anna filed for a widow's pension based on his army service January 27, 1897. It was issued as Certificate #451235.[4]
Seeley and Anna had three children: 1. May, born in May of 1877; 2. Constance, born in February 1879, and 3. John J., born in August of 1879, according to the 1900 U.S. Census.
In the 1880 census Ceale (age 34), Roofer, was the married head of household in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States.[5]

Anna died December 6, 1939, and is buried in Painesville, Ohio.
At the time of his death from paralysis he resided at 80 Hackman Street (now East 36th Street) in Cleveland. He was buried in a plot set aside for Civil War veterans in Section 72 at Woodland Cemetery, January 12, 1897.Seeley apparently had no headstone until his daughter, Constance (married name Kintz of 12607 Britton Drive in Cleveland) ordered one March 28, 1940.
