Our family tree is fraught with errors, especially from 1645 to 1800. All of this material was correctly published in the William Neslson book The Genealogy of the Doremus Family in America. Yet many family members seem unaware of the genealogy work done by Nelson in the second half of the 19th century and are inputting inaccurate data. This means that the wiki leaks tree is a mess. All Doremuses are related the name was created in the late 1690s in Bergen New Netherlands as English lawyers started creating legal documents from family members who were illiterate. Not sure what to do since I am not allowed to work on Early records and that is where all the mistakes begin and are compounded from there.
