John was born in 1857. He is the son of Bluford Vanderpool and Elizabeth Stinedorf.

John was the son of Bluford Vanderpool and Elizabeth Jane Stanturf. He first married Laura Keene, 19 Jan 1882. Their children were Guy L., John (Jack) Louis and a baby boy. About 1893 he married Mary Ellen Butcher and their children were Dora Gladys, James and Forrest Edmon.
