James was born about 1788 (he was age 67 when he died in 1855), the son of Robert Vicars and Lydia Jackson.
James Vicars married Mrs. Nancy Wood on March 31, 1814 in Norfolk County, Virginia. [1]
The 1815 Russell CO, VA Property Tax Assessment Records- Describe the property of JAMES VICKERS, one farm on Grassy Creek, 112 acres having thereon one dwelling house of wood, one story, 18 feet by 16 feet, one springhouse, valued at $100.
James is listed in the 1820 Russell CO, VA Census. [2]
He was also in the 1830 census for Russell County, Virginia. [3]
1840 Census, Russell Co, VA, pg 29 line 27 James Vickars is listed near his brother Paul. [4]
He passed away in 1855 at Russell County, Virgina. His age was 67.[6]
