The baptismal certificate from the Russian Orthodox Church, Tientsin, China, gave her name as Iraida and her parents as Jakob and Alexandra Vinogradoff.
This certificate is suspicious since church and cultural practice was to provide patronymics for both parents and mother's maiden name. It supposedly came from the Japanese Orthodox Resurrection Cathedral in Tokyo but they categorically deny ever holding baptismal registers from Tientsin, China.
DNA evidence proves a non-parental event and that Eda's father was Grigoryi Rodionovich Gripas.
