Henry Waggoner was born in North Carolina on 24 Apr 1817 to Daniel Waggoner and Eve Elizabeth Lopp^[1],^[2]

1939 Jul 12 - Henry married Frances Hulsey in Lincoln County, Tennessee. ^[3] No known children were born to Henry and Frances. Frances died at sometime prior to 8 Aug 1840

1840 Aug 8 - Henry married Julia Ann Johnson in Lincoln County Tennessee.^[4]

1850 Aug 28 - 1850 Federal Census: Henry Wagoner, age 30, born in North Carolina residing in Lincoln county, Lincoln, Tennessee, Others listed: Julia Ann Wagoner, age 28, born in Tennessee; Susan Wagoner, age 9, born in Tennessee; Anguish Wagoner, age 7, born in Tennessee; Daniel Wagoner, age 5, born in Tennessee; Lucy Wagoner, age 3, born in Tennessee; Elizabeth Wagoner, age 0, born in Tennessee^[5]

Based on available census records, Henry Waggoner and family removed from Lincoln County, Tennessee to Rush County, Texas between 1852 and 1857.

Others listed: Julianne Wagner, age 37, born in Tennessee; Anguish Wagner, age 17, born in Tennessee; Daniel Wagner, age 14, born in Tennessee; Lucy A Wagner, age 11, born in Tennessee; James Wagner, age 7, born in Tennessee; Tennessee Wagner, age 3, born in Texas; Jacob Wagner, age 0, born in Texas.^[6]

Julia A. (Johnson) Waggoner died at sometime after 26 Oct 1861 when son Henry Waggoner was born but before the 8 Oct 1870 when the Federal Census was recorded.

1870 Federal Census. Henry Wagoner, age 49, born in North Carolina residing in Rusk County, Texas. Others listed: James Wagoner, age 15, born in Tennessee; Tennessee Wagoner, age 11, born in Texas; Jacob Wagoner, age 9, born in Texas; Henry Wagoner, age 8, born in Texas.^[7]

No documents proving the actual date of Henry's death has been found. The death year is recorded as 1875^[8]

Dear Misty - I have been corresponding with Harry McCown about James C. Waggoner b. 1853 LCT. Tradition says his father was Henry. the 1850 LCT census lists Henry b. ca 1820 N.C.

If tradition is right, this Henry went to Rusk Co. Tx ca 1853.

This Henry is the son of Daniel Waggoner and his wife Eve Lopp. He the son of John Jacob Waggoner and Katie Yantz. Daniel's three brothers, John, George and Jacob E. came to LCTN ca 1810-1812. Daniel and Eve came later - I understood that he closed his father's estate and came with his mother. I have requested a 1860 rusk Co. Census look-up for this Henry. I believe it will show James C as a child. We may have the same ancestor - I descend from both Daniel and Eve and Jacob E and Elizabaeth Leonard Waggoner. Hope this pans out - Katherine,,,^[9][10]
