Biography
Lydia was baptised on 20 January 1822 in Ruardean by parents James and Mary. James was a Collier and the family lived in the 'Forest of Dean' an extra parochial area, probably Ruardean Hill. [1]
On 30th July 1840 at the age of 20 Lydia married Elija Chivers in Walford, Herefordshire. [2]
In 1861 Elijah and Lydia were living on Ruardean Hill with 5 children. Elijah was a Coalpit Engine Driver. [3] They still lived there in 1881. Now in their 60's Elijah was described as an 'Engineer' and the couple lived with their grand daughter, Jane Williams. [4]
Lydia died aged 64 in 1886. Her death was registered in Westbury on Severn. [5]
