Biography

Cora was born 1887 to John Ward and Mary Clark in Eastport, Maine.

In August 1918, Cora arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico on the S.S. Coamo.

In 1920, Cora married George Gourley in Puerto Rico. They had two children - Rosemary born 1922 in Chiriqui, Panama, and Arthur born 1926 in Port Limon, Costa Rica.

From about 1926 to 1939, they lived in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica but sailed back to the US almost every other year. In 1927, the family of four arrived in New York from Port Limon, Costa Rica on the S.S. Toala. In 1929, the family of four arrived in New York from Port Limon, Costa Rica on the S.S. Ulua. In 1935, the family of four arrived in New York from Port Limon, Costa Rica on the S.S. Quirigua. In 1937, the family of four arrived in New York from Port Limon, Costa Rica on the S.S. Veragua. In 1939, the family of four arrived in New York from Port Limon, Costa Rica on the S.S. Chiriqui.

In 1969, Cora passed away in Florida. In 1979, George passed away in Florida. They are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Clermont, Florida.
