Biography

Wife of Asa Curtiss. She was his second wife, he was her first and only husband. They married 19 Sep 1839 in Fulton, Illinois. Children were Henry Curtiss, born 1844 in Illinois, and Truman Curtiss, born 1849 in Beloit, Rock, WI.

Asa's children with first wife, Rhoda ?, were Sarah Cornelia, who married Abraham Coon, (memorial 52751924), Loderick Lawrence (L.L.) Curtiss, memorial 54022513), and Rocellany Curtiss.

Brief obit ran in the Pierce County Herald, May 4, 1881: Spring Lake Asa Curtiss lost his wife last week.

Asa died in Spring Lake, Pierce, Wisconsin, and his place of burial is unknown although it could be on this lot with Frances. It is believed that his first wife, Rhoda, died in Monroe, Michigan, in 1835.

Frances was the oldest child and oldest daughter of Aaron Ward and Martha Sue Cory. Her siblings were John W., Rachel Phoebe, Hannah, Susannah, Eliza, Mariam, and Martha.

Frances's grave is to the left of the main gate, not too far northeast of it.^[1]
