Rachel Peters Warman was born on July 28, 1845 in Richibucto, Kent County, New Brunswick.[citation needed] She was the daughter of Harry P. Warman and (Unknown). Rachel married Charles Kirkland in 1864[1] in Kent County, New Brunswick.[2]
In 1870, Charles, Rachel and three children (all born in New Brunswick) were living in Baring, Maine.[3] Their fourth child, Allen, was born in February 1871, likely in West Isles, Charlotte County, New Brunswick.[4] At the time of the 1871 Canada Census, the family was living in West Isles, New Brunswick.[5]
They family did not stay in New Brunswick for long. By the time their daughter, Maude, was born in 1874, they were again living in Maine. By 1880, they had seven children.[6] They had two more children, in 1883 and 1886, for a total of 9 children over 21 years. In 1888, tragedy struck the family, when three of Charles and Rachel's children,12-year-old Grace, 10-year George and 2-year-old Pearl died.[7]
Rachel died on April 24, 1896 in Danforth, Maine.[8] She was buried in Mattawamkeag, Maine.[7]

↑ Allen was 2 months old on the 1871 Census, at it states he was born in New Brunswick, as does the 1880 Census. Later sources say he was born in Maine, but New Brunswick seems more likely.
