His parents aleady having died, he traveled west accompanying the families of two of his brothers departing Kanesville, Iowa on June 27, 1852 and arrived at Great Salt Lake o October 1, 1852. He was the 12th and last child of his parents. LDS records attest to he and his wifw having had "at least" two sons and one daughter, also - that between his birth and his departing for th west, that the family constantly had to move and resettle, due to "mob violence."
