Biography

Phebe Webster was born in 1796, the daughter of Joseph Webster and Sarah Bailey.[1] She never married.

Phebe was living at Atkinson, NH when the censuses were taken in 1840[2] and 1850.[3] In 1850, her nephew, John Francis Chandler (1831-1915), and his wife and newborn son, were living in her home.

Phebe Webster of Atkinson, NH, “a single woman”, executed a will Sep. 10, 1861 in which she made bequests to John Franklin Chandler, Charles W. Chandler, sons of her nephew, John F. Chandler, and to her nephews Samuel G. Chandler and John F. Chandler. She appointed her nephew, Samuel G. Chandler, her executor.

She passed away in 1870, at age 73.[4] Samuel G. Chandler was appointed administrator of her estate July 13, 1870.
