At the time of the 1851 England, Wales & Scotland Census, John, Mary, Amelia, and George Welch were living on Sopwell Lane in St Albans, Hertfordshire along with John and Ann's widowed daughter Ann Hughes and her son George Hughes[3]. At the time of the census, George's occupation was listed as "Trimming Weaver".
George married Eliza White in Saint Pancras, London on 28 June 1858[4].
At the time of the 1861 England, Wales & Scotland Census, George F., Eliza, Eliza E., and Clara J. Welch were living at 2 Everilda Street, Islington, together with Eliza's mother Mary and sister Emily White, an orphan named James Fary, a boarder, and three visitors[5]. At the time of the 1881 England, Wales & Scotland Census, George F., Eliza, Eliza E., George W., Alice B., John W., Arthur J., Lilian M., Catherine E., Margaret E., and Frederick C. Welch were listed as living at 1, Milton Road West Green Road, Tottenham[7]. At the time of the census, George's occupation was listed as "French Polisher".
At the time of the 1891 Canada Census, George, Eliza, Albert, George, Bertha, Arthur, Lily, Kate, Madge, and Fred K Welch were listed as living in New Westminster, British Columbia[8]. At the time of the census, George’s occupation was listed as “House Painter”.
At the time of the 1911 Canada Census, Arthur, Hattie, Max, Douglas, and Catheline Welch were listed as living in Vancouver, British Columbia, along with Arthur's father Geo Welch[9]. At the time of the census, George’s occupation was listed as “Rtd”.
George died in New Westminster, British Columbia on July 18, 1924[10].
