Private Enoch Wellington served with Middlesex County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Enoch Wellington of Lexington was a soldier in the Revolutionary War serving as a Private, in a detachment from Lexington militia company commanded by Capt. John Bridge on command at Cambridge from May 11 to May 15, 1775, and in [[Wood-27867|Capt. John Wood]'s company, Col. Samuel Gerrish's regiment, June 1, 1775, and as one of the men who guarded the cannon at Lexington and thence to Cambridge in 1776, and in Capt. Benjamin Blaney's company, Col. Eleazer Brooks's regiment of guards in 1778. [1] [2]

Enoch Wellington was born on September 1, 1756 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, son of Joseph Wellington (1711–1777) and Dorcas Stone (1715– ). [3]

Enoch (25) and Sarah Richardson (18) were married on May 8, 1782 in Watertown. [4]

Sarah was born on June 9, 1763 in Watertown, Massachusetts Bay Colony. She was the daughter of Edward Richardson and Abigail (Chenery) Richardson.

Their children were:

  1. Sarah Wellington (1785–~1824)
  2. Abigail M Wellington (1788–1834)

Enoch Wellington gave deposition concerning the Battle at Lexington and Concord in April 1775. [5]

In 1790, Enoch (33) Willington was living in Newton, Middlesex, Massachusetts.

Enoch (43) and Sarah Wood (28) were married on December 18, 1799 in Watertown

Sarah was born about 1770 in Lunenburg, Worcester, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Lemuel Wood.

Their son was Luke Wellington (1801–1876).

Enoch died on August 5, 1817 in Jaffrey, Cheshire, New Hampshire, United States, aged 60. [7]
