Carl Wells Jr. has Appalachian roots, in Kentucky.

Carl Edward Wells, Jr. was born on 29 Oct 1920 in Ohio, United States. He was the son of Carl Wells and Mary (Powers) Wells. He passed away in 1987.

In the 1930 census Carl (age 9) was the son of Carl E Wells at Lemon Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States.^[1]

In the 1940 census Carl (age 18) was the single son of Carl Wells at Sunbury, German Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, United States.^[2]

Carl enlisted in the US Navy on 28 Feb 1940.^[3] He was also enumerated in the 1940 US Census at Newport, Rhode Island.^[4]

Carl was in a military record on 17 November 1942 in Columbus, Ohio, United States.^[5]

He married Geraldine Current about 1944. The marriage date is based upon her changing social security status in Feb 1944,^[6] Carl and Geraldine were parents of two sons and a daughter. Son Carl Edward Wells, III is now deceased (1956-2003). The Wells family relocated from Ohio to the Miami, Dade County, Florida area in 1950 according to Geraldine's obituary (see below).

Carl died (age 66) on 4 June 1987 at Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States.^[7][8] He was buried at Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida.^[9] An obituary is seen in the Miami Herald Newspaper, Miami, Florida on 5 Jun 1987.^[10]

Geraldine died (age 75) on 31 December 1998 residing in Florida.^[11] She was buried beside Carl Jr. at Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States.^[12] An obituary is seen in the Miami Herald Newspaper, Miami, Florida on 3 Jan 1999.^[13]
