Mary was born in Indiana on 24 March 1841.[1] Her parents were Joseph and Mary (Allen) Welsh, natives of Pennsylvania. [1] On 18 October 1860 Mary married Joseph Thurston.[2] The couple had several children, including Martha, John, Joseph, Harvey, Walter, Orous, Mary and Bertha.[3][4][5] Mary died on 28 October 1903 and is buried in Vinson Cemetery.[1][6]
