Biography

James White was born on October 26th. The original hand written records appear to give the year as 1754. [1] The transcribed, typed version omits the year. [2] However, Thomas Lothrop who wrote the book, The Nicholas White Family, published the birth of James White as October 26, 1757. [3]

James was born in Attleboro, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Seth and Naomi (White) White. He married Susanna Johnson on January 26, 1783. The source of their marriage date is a grandson James Paul White. Like his grandfather, he was also married on January 26th. On the celebration of his 50th wedding anniversary, the local newspaper included the statement, “James White, grandfather of James P. White, was married January 26, 1783.” [4]

James White was a brazier, which is a moulder of metal objects. A great deal of research on James White and his family has been done by Lou Pero. Her work is available on Familysearch.org and the World Connect Project (links below). [5] [6]

According to descendants through his son Daniel, James White died March 3, 1792. [7]

White-26139 and White-225 appear to represent the same person because: Finally confirmed these to be the same -- please merge -- THANK YOU
If we can resolve the differences in grandfathers your James White and White-26139 may be the same.
I added information to James and then realized his father Seth was the son of Matthew. My James (who married Susannah Johnson) was the son Seth, who was the son of Nicholas, Jr. I will create a new James White and hopefully we can clear this up later and potentially merge.
