Biography

Alfred White was born in St Albans, Hertfordshire on 19 November 1838, and christened in St Albans on 6 January 1839^[1]. He was the son of John White and Elizabeth Worby. His birth was registered in St Albans in the fourth quarter of 1838.^[2]

At the time of the 1851 England and Wales Census, Elizabeth, Eliza, Alfred, Sarah, Emily, Ann, Harriet, and James White were listed as living in St Albans, along with two lodgers^[3].
