Biography
Eleanor Chase Whitman was born August 28, 1808 to Daniel Whitman and Sarah Kastin Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
She married Presley Y. ThorntonPresley Y. Thornton on December 22, 1824 in Meadsville, Virginia.[1] Their children were:
She married Edward Darnaby on June 27, 1835 in Bedford, Tennessee. Their children were:
- Margaret Ellen Darnaby
- Mary A. Darnaby
- Daniel E. Darnaby
- Sophronia Harrison Darnaby
- William H. Darnaby
She died, at the age of 87, on October 18, 1895 in New Market, Alabama. She is buried at the Whitman Cemetery, New Market, Madison County, Alabama.[2]
