Biography

Clair was born in 1900. His parents divorced not long after he was born. He group up near Union, Waupaca County, Wisconsin with his mother, brother, and grandparents.[1][2] He registered for the World War I draft around 1918[3], but he was still living with his father and grandmother in Oasis, Waushara County, Wisconsin as of 1920.[4]. By 1930, a 16-year-old servant, Lillian Koenneman, was living with them, now in Farmington Town, Waupaca County, Wisconsin.[5] Lillian would become Clair's wife.

Clair was a farmer. In 1935-1940, Clair and his family were living in Sheridan, Farmington Town, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Clair's father, Henry, and grandmother, Lydia, were also living in the house.[6]

He passed away in 1985.
